Restoration Books is a traditional hand bindery specializing in the restoration and conservation of rare books, documents, ephemera, and works of art on paper. We proudly serve a continually growing clientele of private collectors, used and rare book dealers, public and private institutions, and individuals with valuable family heirlooms in need of preservation. Restoration Books’ owner & proprietor, Michael Atha, has studied with many of the best conservators and bookbinders the world over. Michael completed his coursework in book and paper conservation through the American Academy of Bookbinding in Telluride, Colorado, going on to establish a successful private practice in beautiful northern Utah. Restoration Books has been featured in several publications, including “Fine Books and Collections” magazine. In addition to book and paper conservation, Restoration Books also houses a complete letterpress print shop, which specializes in fine social papers and small press editions of fine books and pamphlets. We have a staff of talented artists, graphic designers, binders, and conservators to fulfill all of your needs, no matter how large or small.
What others are saying about Restoration Books:
“I must say that Restoration Books met and exceeded all of my expectations regarding quality, speed, and price; I could not have asked for more... Truly [my] book can now be handled and examined without any worries. This now feels like a ‘book’ to me instead of an object. In fact, I sat here just now and looked through it almost page by page, which I was hesitant to do before.”
