Paper
Repair
Sometimes it is necessary to repair damaged pages
to a book or fill a void in a map or document.
When at all possible I will use period paper to
best match missing pages, reproducing missing
text, if needed, with archival ink. For smaller
voids in paper I will often use different Japanese
tissues to fill missing areas as well as mending
cracked hinges to books. Again, I always pay particular
attention to detail as well as using the best
archival materials available to preserve your
treasures so they can be handled like new.
"From every book
invisible threads reach out to other books; and
as the mind comes to use and control those threads
the whole panorama of the world's life, past and
present, becomes constantly more varied and interesting,
while at the same time the mind's own powers of
reflection and judgment are exercised and strengthened."
